60 Second Aroma Reset

Five simple steps to release situational negative feelings or stressors, and gain the capacity to move forward with more calm and confidence in your day

What is the Aroma Reset Process?

When we encounter a situation that feels overwhelming, confusing, or provokes feelings of anxiousness, our emotions tend to ‘lock up’ and we lose our ability to think clearly and feel at peace. The 60 Second Aroma Reset is a simple process to quickly release the negative thoughts and feelings you have about a situation. By following this technique, you ‘reset’ your brain to return to feelings of peace and wholeness, allowing you to move forward in a better state of mind.

This technique is best used in moments where you need a quick boost out of feelings of negativity or stress to be able to carry on with your day. For persistent concerns that could benefit from a targeted approach on areas such as trauma release, mindset shifts, worry cycles, etc, a 1-hour guided session utilizing the fuller collection of Aroma Freedom protocols catered to your specific story and needs is optimal.

How it Works

STEP 1: Identify the Situation

Take a moment and identify a situation that’s bothering you right now. It could be anything that’s causing you some level of stress, confusion, fear, frustration, or worry. Once you have the issue identified, visualize the situation in your mind.

STEP 2: Name the Feeling

Identify and name one word that describes how you feel when you picture the situation such as nervous, worried, angry, sad, fearful, etc.

STEP 3: Locate the Feeling in Your Body

Where do you feel that feeling in your body? It could be your head, belly, chest - anywhere. It could also be a bodily posture such as slumped shoulders or clenched teeth.

STEP 4: Identify the Negative Thought

What is the negative thought connected to the feeling? Often this will just pop up immediately - it might be a negative thought about a personal sense of inadequacy, or a fear - just check in with yourself and identify the first negative thought that is there.

STEP 5: Breathe in the Essential Oils

Put one drop of each essential oil (see list of oils below) in palm of your hand and rub together. Close your eyes and begin to inhale the oils deeply while focusing on the situation, the feeling, and negative thought. Do this for a minute or so, and notice what happens to your thoughts, the picture of the situation, and how your mind and body feel.

That’s it! You can even do a couple rounds of this in a row to deepen the effect.

Most often, what happens is you will feel tension in your body release, your belly will settle, and you’ll begin to feel more relaxed. You might find a positive thought replacing the negative thought, which could be as simple as “I can let that go”, “I can do this”, or “I am okay”. While this technique isn’t meant to solve all of our struggles, and deeper concerns can be at play that could be wise to seek further support around, it is designed to take you quickly from a triggered state into a feeling of calm and clarity so you can move forward in a more settled way.
